This video discusses treatment of a displaced radial head fracture in a six-year-old. This is a rare injury in a skeletally immature patient with possible complications including immature physeal closure and disruption of the annular ligament. X-rays showed a 7x8x2mm ossific fragment in the posterior lateral elbow. MRI and CT confirmed an intraarticular radial head fracture with an entrapped, displaced fragment. The patient underwent open reduction internal fixation using three buried, 0.045-in (1.14-mm) K-wires which were removed after 6 weeks. At 10-month follow-up, the fracture was healed, and the patient had returned to full function without pain or limitations.
